You might be surprised how often I see this during a home inspection. Why install a drain pan for your water heater if it’s just going to leak out on the floor anyway because you didn’t plug the fitting?

When I saw this, see picture, I wondered why people didn’t do that a long time ago. Raising the dryer electrical outlet off the ground makes it much easier to plug in without pulling the dryer out.
